Exporting

Sidenote offers four export formats so you can take your feedback wherever it needs to go — into a ticket tracker, a design handoff document, a meeting, or another tool in your workflow.

Export options are available from the annotation sidebar on any document.

JSON

A structured, machine-readable export containing all document metadata, annotations (with their element anchors, text content, author, and timestamps), replies, and audit findings. The JSON includes a summary with total, open, and resolved counts.

This format is designed for integration. Feed it into your project management tool, a CI pipeline, or an AI agent for automated triage. It's also the format used by the MCP integration for AI-powered review workflows.
