1. Agreement
By accessing or using Sidenote (“the Service”), operated by PF Creative Ltd (“we”, “us”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Sidenote is a web-based document review platform. Users upload HTML documents, share them with reviewers via links, and collect structured feedback. The Service also provides an API and MCP server for programmatic access.
3. Accounts
You must authenticate via Google OAuth to upload documents. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. Reviewers do not need accounts — they access documents via share links.
4. Acceptable Use
You may not use the Service to host, share, or distribute content that is illegal, harmful, abusive, or infringes on the rights of others. We reserve the right to remove content or suspend accounts that violate these terms.
5. Your Content
You retain ownership of all content you upload. By uploading content, you grant us a limited licence to store, process, and serve that content solely for the purpose of providing the Service. We do not use your content for training, advertising, or any purpose beyond delivering the Service.
6. Plans and Billing
The Service offers free and paid plans. Paid plans are billed through Paddle, our merchant of record, who handles payment processing, tax compliance, and invoicing. Prices are displayed inclusive of applicable taxes. You may upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time through your account settings. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period.
7. Refund Policy
We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on all paid plans. If you are not satisfied with the Service, you may request a full refund within 14 days of your initial purchase or renewal. Refund requests are processed through Paddle, our merchant of record. To request a refund, email hello@sidenote.ink with your account email and reason for the request. Refunds are typically processed within 5–10 business days. After the 14-day window, no refunds will be issued for the current billing period, but you may cancel at any time to prevent future charges.
8. Service Availability
We aim to keep the Service available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform maintenance, deploy updates, or experience outages. We are not liable for any losses resulting from downtime.
9. Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, PF Creative Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
10. Termination
You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms. On termination, your uploaded documents and associated data will be deleted within 30 days.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the email address associated with your account. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
12. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
